20th April 2022

Southern Regional College in Northern Ireland were so impressed with the Studiobricks XXL acoustic booth that they ordered last year, that they have had two more acoustic booths installed – this time for their Banbridge and Newry Campuses.

“The booths are to be used in our media, digital recording  music courses”, explained Stephen McDowell, Facilities Manager at Southern Regional College’s Banbridge and Newry campuses.

Chris Hobson, Curriculum Area Manager in the Faculty of Computing Design and Academic Studies, explained the background to the project: “Southern Regional College purchased a Studiobricks acoustic booth to enhance the student experience at our new £30million campus.  Situated in the PBL (Project Based Learning) area, the acoustic booth will be utilised by students from all sorts of courses from music technology to performing arts, media, art, and as a tool for Vlogs for other areas”.

Chris was highly impressed with the Studiobricks booths, describing them as: “truly an amazing piece of kit that students in modern day F.E. and H.E. surroundings need”.

The team at Southern Regional College were equally impressed by the installation service supplied by Black Cat Music & Acoustics – Stephen McDowell added: “We are delighted with the service provided by blackcatmusic.”
